A Story About Cancer and a Quilt

As I was starting my workout on the treadmill today, I saw that Amy at Stitchery Dickory Dock had a new post on her blog, so I linked over to check it out (while continuing to walk, of course!). It wasn't her usual cheerful post about fabric or pillows or quilts, but more of a serious one. Without going into a lot of detail here, as I would rather you read her post, let's just say it's about a special young boy who could use some support from all of us. His name is Uzias.  His Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/HelpForUzias, and his story is sad but hopeful.

Being a cancer survivor myself, I'm quite hopeful for Uzias. He has so much support from his family and community, but needs so much more than support and prayers. While I don't know Uzias or his family personally, Amy met his mother on the plane, and I'm sharing this with all of you just from reading her very touching story.  If you'd like to know more about Uzias, please go to Amy's blog, where you'll find a link for donating, and Amy has plans to organize a quilt that we can all put together for Uzias.  Stay tuned.

Test Post for Bloglovin

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Did you hear that Google Reader will be gone as of July 1st? I'm switching over to Bloglovin, and I apparently have to do this test post to "claim" my Bloglovin page.

Not sure what this does, but here goes.

We have a winner!

Thanks to all of you who participated in the Quilting Gallery's Beat the Winter Blues Blog Hop. So much fun to have so many visitors to my blog and also to visit all of the participating blogs!

And a BIG Thank You to Dana at Winter Creek Cloth for sponsoring this giveaway! I hope that all of you were able to visit her website or her Facebook page. Sign up for her newsletter to stay updated on new fabrics and any sales she might be having.

I haven't done much in my quilting room this week because I've been too busy entering giveaways and replying to those who entered my giveaway. If you didn't get a reply from me, it was by accident, because I seriously tried to reply to every single one, but I'm human and I may have missed a few :/

So....what you've all been waiting for!

I put everyone's name in a basket, closed my eyes, and picked out a name.

And the lucky winner of a Ticklish Layer Cake, a charm pack of Honey Honey, and a charm pack of Gypsy Girl is Becky who blogs over at The Quilting Booklady

I follow you and Winter Creek Cloth on Facebook. Thanks for a fabulous giveaway!
Congratulations, Becky! I'll be in touch with you shortly to get your address!
Stay tuned for my next project! And thanks again for visiting my blog and participating in the blog hop! It's always fun to hear from everyone and to see new faces!
