Challenged for sure!

Well, I got out my old project a little later than planned. It's been so long since I pulled it out of the drawer that I didn't realize how little I had gotten done on it before.  So it was like starting over. I quickly remembered why I was so intimidated by it. I bought this cute little wallhanging kit at my local craft/quilt shop maybe 3 years ago, when I was just getting into quilting. I fell in love with it because it was called Charleston Gate. Ya see....I was born and raised in the Charleston, SC area. Specifically, Goose Creek, SC. Yep, that's right....Goose Creek.  You can stop laughing now and get back to reading my blog :) This kit came in a cute little metal house-shaped basket, and it was just so tempting. I had no idea what I was getting in to!!! Look at all the pieces that needed to be cut out of all these pieces of fabric. So time consuming!!!

Here's a close-up of the instructions for laying out the applique pieces - a MILLION of them!
And here they are all ironed on the back side of the fabric, ready to cut tonight after work.

I thought for sure that I had already gotten a start on the applique before I put it away last time (yes, I've put it away more than once), but not one single applique piece had been cut out. Heck! I hadn't even finished cutting all the blocks, and there were A LOT of those, too!
I finally stopped cutting around 11:00 last night and figured I should probably go to bed since I have to get up at 5:00 :) Maybe I'll have it done in time for next month's Yester-Year WIP Challenge Linky Party. Thanks, Christine, for hosting the party! See ya next month :)
